Qui Tam
Smith Law Firm is excited to announce that we have joined forces with two partners from the Philadelphia office of an International Law Firm who specialize in qui tam actions. What is a qui tam action? A qui tam action is a lawsuit brought by an individual or individuals against a company on behalf of the United States. Wherein the company has engaged in fraud in its work on government contracts or otherwise acted criminally.
We are very excited about this new practice area in that it is a logical extension of our employment practice on behalf of employees. It is not at all unusual when we counsel an employee who has been discharged or has a severance package that they mention to us that their employer has engaged in some monkey business with other entities and occasionally the Government. Now we are better able to litigate.
